Conclusion
There is a drastic reduction in occupancy rate before and during the pandemic due to the imposed travel restrictions, which limits both international and interstate travels from Airbnb customers.
By comparing the mean number of occupied rooms between 1st June 2019 and 2020, there is a percentage decrease of 67.97% in the Airbnb occupancy rate.
There is also a STRONG correlation between the number of reviews by the customers and the rooms' occupancy rate, as the customers prefer to have rooms that have been experienced and recommended by previous customers compared to the ones without.
We can conclude that the impact of the pandemic and the number of reviews stayed played a significant role in determining the occupancy rate of the Airbnb rooms, therefore it is not affected by representative bias.
